One way to judge the best beer is simply by the volume of sales. It can be assumed that the amount of sales is equivalent to the beer’s popularity and thus will tell you which is the “Best Beer”. Here are the 2010 Best Seller rankings…

Best Beer Contest Winners
Another way to determine the Best Beer is through competition. One of the most well-known is the best beer contest from the Great American Beer Festival. The 2010 Festival chose the best beer from a field of over 3,500 entries that are all vying to be the best in class. The beers chosen had to be fermented and brewed in the US and must be commercially available.
Beers are judged in 79 different beer categories including hybrid/mixed styles (such as Fruit Beer, Rye Beer, or Coffee Flavored Beer), Larger Beer Styles (such as German-Style Pilsener, Vienna-Style Lager, and Baltic-Style Porter), and Ale Beer Styles (such as English-Style India Pale Ale, Imperial Red Ale, and Belgian-Style Witbier
